Insurance experience spans more than 55 years having started his career as a junior with insurance underwriter, Commercial Union in 1965 (now CGU). In 1983, Stephen moved from underwriting to broking when he co-founded Australian European Insurance Brokers (AEI) as joint MD. The AEI executive expanded the company’s capabilities and Stephen became a director of newly formed specialist underwriting agencies, Global Underwriting Services and Global Motor underwriting (GT).

Stephen has immersed himself in many aspects of insurance and is a long-time mentor fostering young professionals via the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) mentoring programme. Stephen is also a Director of Hunter Equity Group Pty Ltd, (HEG), a private equity group which supports insurance related opportunities.

Stephen has a long history in volunteer and charity support being past Chair of The Apex Foundation Limited, Past Director of Opera Australia Foundation, Past President of The University of Sydney Melanoma Foundation and several other community groups.
